CBSSports.com College Network brings 14+ years of managing official stores, and has overseen over 50 National Championships. CBSSports.com College Network utilizes a state-of-the-art in-house store platform. We attend yearly e-commerce seminars such as E-tail and subscribe to EMarketer, the industry's leading information source, to ensure we are on the cutting edge of all the current technology offerings and statistical data. Through our unparalleled network, we are able to utilize sales data, merchandising practices, and conversions of over 100 official school stores, giving us unmatched comparable information to utilize. We apply all the appropriate technology and analytical tools available to maximize our performance. Through these tools, and with the tireless efforts of our expert staff, we ensure maximum promotional results, sales conversions at or above industry averages and complete site security, while maintaining the highest brand standards. A dedicated online account manager (OAM) works to maximize efficiency and profitability of all merchandising ventures, and the support thereof. The OAM creates marketing and promotional emails and banners; ensures hot market opportunities are met; helps manage inventory and monitor customer service; ensures conversion rates are met; and reports to athletics on an ongoing basis as to the performance of all e-commerce endeavors. The OAM monitors the official athletic site daily to not only ensure the merchandise promotion is maximized, but also to view current athletic developments, enabling them to be intimately connected to the pulse of the athletic program so all opportunities reach the maximum potential.   • CBSSports.com College Network's store platform has handled four football national championships and five basketball national championships with NO DOWN TIME. CBSSports.com College Network-endorsed third party partners have handled several National Championships with NO DOWN TIME.
  • Easy to use web tools that allow vendor to edit and post merchandise to online store, add and edit department categories, create and manage inventories, and create complete and detailed reports.

  • Dedicated Online Account Manager to oversee and work with vendor on all marketing and promotion.
  • All marketing campaigns are fully integrated into the confines of the official website. The online account manager works directly with the vendor, CBS College Sports Online editorial, and University Relations staff to maximize the impact and reach for the following campaigns:
  • Standard Campaigns - Direct email, banner ads on official website and layered "pop up" ads on website index page; typically introduce new creative every 1-2 weeks.

    Themed Campaigns - Targeted around specific holidays (Christmas, Mother's/Father's Day, Graduation) or other special events.

    Hot Market Campaigns - Designed to take advantage of special Hot Market opportunities such as second tier sports that are specifically tied closely to that schools athletic program (like rugby, gymnastics, etc.); national championships; bowl bids; NCAA Final Four berths; etc.

    "Victory E-mails" - Immediately following all football victories and big wins in other sports, an e-mail goes out that features all OAS editorial coverage plus relevant e-commerce content.

    Online Auctions

    CBSSports.com College Network currently uses a cutting-edge in-house auction platform that launched in August 2007. Auctions provide a venue for the athletic department to offer school-related memorabilia, merchandise, trips, etc. to its fan base. By providing fans the opportunity to bid on collectibles, jerseys, tickets, fan experiences and one-of-a-kind items, you are providing a great new method to generate fan interest, while at the same time adding substantial revenue for your athletic department at margins as high as 80%. This past year several schools generated six figures in gross revenue from their online auctions; and with the proper support from athletics, schools can generate more revenue from auctions than from the Official Store.

  • All school auctions are aggregated on a hub site on CBSSports.com, increasing providing additional potential traffic for all auctions.
  • Marketing & Promotion

  • Dedicated Online Account Manager to oversee and work with vendor on all marketing and promotion.
  • All marketing campaigns are fully integrated into the confines of the official website. The online account manager works directly with the various staffs from the Athletic Department, CBSSports.com College Network editorial team and University Relations to maximize the impact and reach for the following:
    • Direct email, banner ads on official website and layered "pop up" ads on website index page Ideally, new emails will go out in three waves: after an auction goes live; with 2-3 days left in the auction; the day before the auction ends.
    • Dynamic, flash-based auction portal on OAS that promotes auctions with highest bid amount / most bids.
  • Certain high profile auctions can be marketed to CBSSports.com users via targeted email databases and under special circumstances, on local CBS television affiliates or CBS Sports broadcasts.
  • While not a requirement, CBSSports.com College Network will ask that your auction be promoted via athletic department promotional channels such as PA announcements, radio drop-ins, message and matrix board announcements to help drive awareness.
